One Loss... One Win... Still in it!

Waiting for the game to begin... Benjamin is #11

Calling out the line-up

Huddle after today's win

Benjamin's baseball tournament began on Saturday. After picking him up from camp we headed home to change and get ready for his game. On a side note... Benjamin had a wonderful week at camp. He had 2 great counselors, learned a lot, and made some new friends. An awesome week! Saturday's baseball game was amazing. These kids played their hearts out. Sadly they lost 10-7 to Solanco's team. Bases were loaded when we got our last out... a true nail biter. Today was his 2nd game... win or lose he would have played today. It just happened to be their team's draw. We played LS (Lampeter Strasburg). Another great game... we won 12-2 (10 run rule) to advance to the next game. So tomorrow night... light practice and a game Tuesday night. We are not sure who we are playing yet. Depends on the outcome of a game tomorrow night. So much fun! The weather was beautiful... perfect for a weekend of baseball. Way to go Warrick Warriors!

Happy Father's Day!

Today after we all slept in.... we headed off to Indian Echo Caverns. We all had so much fun. After that it was on for a bike ride from Colebrook to Mount Gretna. Of course when in Mount Gretna one must visit the Jigger Shop. After enjoying a late lunch and of course some ice cream it was back to the bike trail to head home. After returning home we enjoyed the beautiful weather and one last night with Benjamin at home. He leaves for his week of summer camp at Black Rock tomorrow (sniff sniff). Ok so it's not too bad... we are picking him up to go to baseball practice through out the week!

So, Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband! I am so thankful for the role model you are to our children (ok, I love saying children!). You are the leader in our family, showing God's love, you give of yourself, give up your plans (ex. cabin fun), show us endless love, and the list goes on!!! It was a fun filled change of plans weekend! I love you!

Sheer exhaustion after so much fun!

Thanks also to the Dads in our lives. We appreciate you both! So thankful and grateful that you are a part of our lives and our children's' lives too. We hope you had a wonderful day too!
Happy Father's Day!

He Made It!

Standing by the team list
Team Roster

The Kreider household was a very happy one tonight! Yesterday Benjamin tried out for the 9 yr old (by league age he is 9, league age cutoff was April 30th) District 23 invitational tournament team. We originally were told there could be 50 kids trying out for 12-13 spots. It ended up being 23 kids trying out for 13 spots. Not as bad, but still intimidating. Each player was evaluated for fielding the ball, arm strength (distance throwing ball), batting, and then batting against a kid pitching. These evaluations along with their season stats were used to select the team. We were told that the team roster would be posted by 6pm this evening. Because we were heading to a nearby park at 4:30 we decided to stop by early... low and behold the list was there. Brent and Benjamin walked to check the board... as soon as I saw Benjamin running with a smile Mom came running and crying. I know seriously it's a little league tournament, it's not like he made the Phillies' roster, but hey I was so proud of him! We all were!

Afterwards....A Picnic In the Park
Silly Pop Pop

The Cousins!

We enjoyed the beautiful weather this evening at Lititz Springs Park. We had a picnic supper in the park with Nan & Pop along with Uncle Jon, Aunt Becky, and cousins Ethan & Emma. The kids had fun feeding the ducks, enjoying the playground, and after a picnic supper a walk to the ice cream shop for dessert. Yummy! More fun times in the summer!

Oh yeah... Benjamin starts tournament practice tomorrow night. The tournament runs from June 27-July 7... double elimination. One cool thing... Benjamin's good buddy Brendan made his tournament team. We could possibly meet up in the tournament. Go Warwick!!!

Fruits Of Our Labor...

Pea picking fun!

Our garden... peas, carrots, onions, lettuce, peppers, watermelon, and broccoli

Final product!

Ok... so technically the vegetables of our labor! Today Alissa and I picked the first of our peas (Benjamin was mowing the yard, such a big help!). We picked a small batch today. It looks like in a couple of days there will be a lot more to pick. She loved helping me pick and then shell them. Loving this sunny summer day!

School's Out For Summer!!!

Alissa running to Benjamin... so cute!

Lots of excitement!

Finally school is out! Today was Benjamin's last day of school. After an early dismissal at 10:45 we met Brent for lunch. Pizza Hut buffet... Benjamin's pick! So the weather isn't sunny today (it's a rainy dreary day)... that doesn't dampen our spirits. So glad that school is over and summer break has officially begun! Happy Summer!

"Deach" Weekend & The Strawberry Patch

A little late with the pics... but better late than never! Over Memorial Day Weekend  we went to the Hurst beach house for our traditional "deach" (this is what Alissa calls the beach) weekend with friends. It was such a fun time... Alissa's first trip to the beach house. She loved playing with her friends... just like her brother. We had some beautiful weather again this year. It was fun to play in the sand, the ocean (for some of the  kids... water temp was in the 50's brrrr!)and catch some rays. We ventured out this year for dinner Saturday night. Yummy seafood and coconut muffins at Marina Deck. The kids did great! So the kid total now stands at 12... 11 and under to our 8 adults. Always a fun time with friends!
This week Alissa and I made it to the strawberry patch. So much fun to see Alissa getting all excited over the "big red strawberries". Over 5 pounds of strawberries... now time to make some jelly!
Benjamin's baseball season will end this weekend. His last game is Saturday. He had a fun time.We are counting down the days now until school is done. His last day is June 11th. It's only a half day. We are looking forward to having lunch with Daddy and then to the pool. Can't wait! Bring on summer!
