Fishing Tales...

Today was the first day of trout season here in our area. Brent and Benjamin went out at 7:15 am. It was a very chilly 29 degrees! I'm think'n I was the smart one...I stayed home in the comfort of my pjs and warm home! No fish the first time around.

These pics are from this evening. I decided to go down to the fishing hole to take some pics. So far the the count is Brent 3 trout and Benjamin 1. They seemed to be having fun despite Benjamin and his love for the bottom of the creek! He got his hook caught 2 times while I was there a whole 5 minutes!




Yes, this is a pic of me. I couldn't resist. I was walking up to the guys when a man asked if I was from the Gap, Pa area as he was from the Christiana area. I just smiled and said no. It gave me a good chuckle!

Road Trip To MI!

It's hard to know where to begin! This past weekend we spent Easter with Brent's brother Brad and his family-Bradi, Raegan, and Sydney. We had so much fun! Some of the highlights of our stay:

Thursday- arriving and seeing the cousins

Friday- taking Raegan to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum in the morning, a little girls time out to shop (thanks Brent!), painting Easter eggs, the Dads taking Benjamin and Raegan to a gym to jump around, learning to play Canasta, and of course the start of some snow!

Saturday- awake to almost 8 inches of snow, Easter egg hunt at Brad and Bradi's church , Brent getting to snow blow a driveway for the first time this year (our winter in PA this year was pretty weak!), playing and sledding in the snow, catching a movie- "Horton Hears A Who" (this was Raegan's 1st movie) dinner at Logans (a free one at that!), and more Canasta!

Sunday- Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Celebrating Jesus is risen as a family at church, enjoying an amazing ham dinner with all the sides prepared by Bradi and Brad, finding Easter baskets, another egg hunt, Brent and Brad getting the chance to go and fish, playing with Raegan and Benjamin outside, and great conversations!

As you can see there was plenty to be done! We are so blessed by our family! We echo Bradi's thoughts from her blog- we are so thankful for how well we all get along! There are always great times to be had in MI and memories to be made (We love Logans)! Thanks guys for your hospitality. We miss you! The waterslides started as we left your driveway! Thanks again!

March Adoption Update...

We are seeing a dim light at the end of the very long tunnel! China has now matched families with LIDs (log in date) through January 4, 2006. Our LID is January 24, 2006. Realistically we are looking at a June referral, however we continue to pray for a May referral. Referrals are usually issued the first week of the month. April's referrals will be a pretty good indication of either May or June for us. As you may know the summer Olympics begin August 8th in Beijing China. With a referral in June we would likely be traveling over the Olympics. Please continue to pray with us for a May referral and travel over and back to China before the Olympics. Looking forward to updating you all in April!

Chalkboard was a Christmas present from my parents

My Christmas present from Brent this year was that he would paint the kitchen for me. It's hard to see in the pictures, but he painted it a yellow for me. I love it! It really makes it a cheery room! To top it off I finally found a new kitchen table. I had been looking for a while. It wasn't that we didn't have a table to eat off of or anything, it's that I was hoping to update it. The table is my early birthday present. I also had fun using my Christmas money to buy some curtains, and things for above my cabinets.

Check out the flowers on my table. Mom and Dad Kreider sent those to us. They are in Florida for several weeks and wanted to let us know they missed us. They are the perfect accent. Thanks!
