Travel Itinerary

Today we received our travel itinerary via email from our agency. Tomorrow we will receive the hard copy of it along with our official travel invitation to China via UPS. Needless to say we'll be watching for the big brown truck! In just 21 days we will meet our daughter for the first time. Here is our itinerary:

Sept 11, 2008 Leave from Harrisburg Airport. Connecting flight in Detroit to Tokyo.
Sept 12, 2008 Arrive in Beijing @ 9:35 p.m. Joy. Stay at Days Hotel & Suites.
Sept 13, 2008 Orientation meeting at 10:00 a.m. Afternoon Acrobatic show
Sept 14, 2008 Visit the Great Wall and Cloisonne Factory.
Sept 15, 2008 Visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Hutong Tour.
Sept 16, 2008 Flight (7:40-10:45) to Nanning. Meet Alissa in afternoon.
Stay at the Best Western Red Forest Hotel.
Sept 17, 2008 Adoption registration and notarization.
Sept 18, 2008 Free
Sept 19, 2008 Visit Guangxi Provincial Museum.
Sept 20, 2008 Visit Green Hill Park.
Sept 21, 2008 Visit Flower and Bird Market.
Sept 22, 2008 Visit South Lake Park. Flight (18:30-19:20) to Guangzhou. Stay
at the White Swan Hotel.
Sept 23, 2008 Medical exam for the children.
Sept 24, 2008 Visa appointment.
Sept 25, 2008 3:00 p.m. Go to the consulate to take the oath and pick up
visa.
Sept 26, 2008 Flight @ 8:20 a.m. to Tokyo. Connecting flight to U.S.A.

As you can see we will be kept quite busy! We are looking forward to this time to finally meet our daughter and to take in as much of her culture as we can! You might have some questions like what is a Hutong? I tried to link some of what we will see to some websites. Click on the highlighted word and it will take you there. Honestly I can't wait for the Hutong tour in a rickshaw. How cool is that!?!

What We've Been Up To...

Just a quick update on what we've been doing...

• Applying for our Visa
• Working on our other paperwork
• Finishing up Alissa's room (I promise I'll post pics once I get it cleaned up!)
• Checking things off our long list of to dos
• Making our packing piles
• Praying for continued health for ourselves and Alissa
• Praying for attachment and a smooth adjustment for Alissa
• Counting down the days until we leave for China!!!!

Thanks for your continued prayers and support. They are much needed and felt. Please continue to remember our family in your prayers as our traveling date is getting closer!

Travel Dates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo!!! Just a little excitement in the Kreider household! We received an email notification this afternoon that we are leaving for China Sept 11th!!!!!

We don't have any details as far as our in-country travel at this time. We'll receive those details 7-10 days prior to travel. We do know that our consulate appt is Sept 24th. We'll be arriving home with our daughter Sept 26th. The cool thing is, Benjamin has been praying that we would travel in the beginning of September! Once again God has answered our prayers! Alissa here we come!!!
