Here we are--me, Jen, and Cheryl. We all go to church together. Cheryl works at Jen's husband's accounting business. This was our pre-race picture. We had our very own photographer. Thanks Brent and Benjamin!
On your mark, get set, go! And we are off!!!
Crossing the finish line! Yes, I was crying! Not because of pain or exhaustion, but an incredible flood of emotions and feelings of "I did this!" Yes, I finished the race, no I was not last, and one more goal that I kept to myself--I did it under 1 hour. I made better time than I ever thought I could! Next year I'll have a time to beat!
Post race pic- a little more sweaty and tired looking, but still smiling!
My official runner's number! How cool. If you look you can see a bar code on it. When I got there I checked in and got my number, and from there I went to another table for my chip. My chip?!? No potato or chocolate chips friends! It was a little computerized thing I attached to my sneaker after they scanned my number and chip. The next trick was figuring out how to attach it to my sneaker. Yes, you could clearly tell I had never done this before! It was used to clock our time from start to finish. Thanks Jen for your encouragement to run this race. Thanks to my finish line cheerleaders--Brent & Benjamin. Thanks for believing in me!
