Easter Egg Hunt in MI

Steelhead Fishing Trip

Easter Sunday

Student of the Month

Fishing Derby

First baseball game

Spring is here!!!

Well, April has been a whirlwind so far! We made our annual trek out to MI for Easter again this year. So sorry Freed family, one of these times we are in MI we will look you up! Our short trip consisted of... dinner out, Easter basket and egg hunts, fishing trip all day Saturday for the boys, celebrating Easter, and also celebrating Raegan and Sydney's birthdays. Whew! Monday we made the 10 hour trip back home just in time for Benjamin to be honored that evening for being student of the month for 5th grade. What an honor! We are so proud of him!
Since being back we have all had nasty colds. Ugh! Alissa and I seemed to have suffered an allergic reaction to something. A trip to the Dr and some eye drops and we seem to be doing better!
On Saturday we went to a fishing derby at neighbor Paul's (grandpa's neighbor)pond. The kids had a blast fishing! Check our their catches!
This week was the start of Benjamin's baseball season. He was so excited. They have been practicing since February, so needless to say he was happy to start playing some games. Sadly they lost their first game. Benjamin made an out at 2nd base and then caught a pop fly out in center. Way to go! Tonight's another game.
We have all been enjoying our very spring like weather here in PA! Today it's sunny and in the 70's. I know I just asked myself the same question...why am I inside blogging on this beautiful day? To get this checked off my to do list!!! :-) Happy Spring!

Easter with the Wiles

Cousins... Ethan & Emma

Nan & Pop Pop with the grandkids

Great-grandparents

On Sunday we hosted my family for an early Easter dinner. Our tradition is to have my family over on Palm Sunday for lunch. What a blessing to have not only grandparents, but great-grandparents in our children's lives! We had a day full of food, laughter, hanging out, and more FOOD! The cousins had a great time playing together. Thanks to my mom and sister-in-law Becky for bringing some food. Such a big help! Thanks family for a fun day! If you are looking for a spring salad the following is Becky's yummy recipe...

Layered Strawberry Salad:
4 cups baby spinach leaves
1 pkg. (8 oz.) KRAFT Shredded Low Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
3 cups torn Boston lettuce
1 small red onion, thinly sliced, separated into rings
2 cups strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup PLANTERS Walnut Halves, toasted
1/2 cup KRAFT Creamy Poppy seed Dressing

Place half of the spinach on serving plate.
Top with half each of the cheese, Boston lettuce, onions and strawberries. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with walnuts. Drizzle with dressing just before serving. Enjoy!

Sleeping....

in her bed again! Yeah! Since we have been home from Florida Alissa decided that she did not like her room or bed. Every night there were many tears and a lot of drama! She has been sleeping on her floor bed as she liked to call it. What is a floor bed? One blanket on her floor beside her bed. No comfort that's for sure. Funny thing was that every morning she made her floor bed and was quite proud of it! :-) This week she decided her room was beautiful again and that she like her bed. We found her sleeping in her bed with her Minnie Mouse ears from Disney. Too cute!
Not much else new here. We have been enjoying the very spring like weather here. Benjamin starts outside baseball practice next week so mom's taxi begins!
