Some pictures

This am we met Shiyan who works for Bethany during our orientation. She has been helping with adoptions for 16 years now. She was so helpful in preparing us for meeting our children. She has been in contact with the foster families letting them know that the children should remain in their care until they are brought to the families. What a blessing to hear that! The following are some pictures from yesterday and today...

Beijing Airport

Hotel Check-in

Hotel Lobby
Outside of Hotel

This am we walked to a grocery store
for some snacks and bottled water.
A common sight--bikes for transportation.
This afternoon we went shopping at Silk Street. It
was bartering--not my thing. Brent had
a blast with it. Below is at a pearl store.
We purchased a necklace and earrings for
Alissa to wear for her wedding. They
cut the strand and hand tied it. Very cool!

In an hour we leave for a Chinese acrobatic show.
Dinner afterwards. It has been an amazing day!
Tomorrow we head to the Great Wall and then
the Cloissone Factory. We leave the hotel at 8am
for our outings tomorrow. We won't be posting again
until the end of our day tomorrow. Thanks so much for
the comments. It's been so much fun reading them!
Again thanks for your prayers--we feel them!

It's wonderful to know that you have arrived safely (with all your luggage) in Beijing! I remember the feeling, too, of knowing we are finally here in China for Caylei after that long wait. Enjoy all the sights and sounds! Can't wait to read your next post :)

Glad to see you all smiles in China. Thanks for the pictures and the updates. I am already tearing up at the thought of watching your daughter walk down the aisle wearing that necklace and those earrings that were bought with so much love! The thought of Brent bartering for goods, makes me laugh! Who would have thought that he would love that??!! Sounds like cousin Ethat would have loved to go along to China with you. Enjoy seeing the sights and we look forward to your next update.
